01Overview
$CONTRABAND is a Solana token launched on pump.fun. Its creator wallet is the Contrabands treasury, so every pump.fun creator fee generated by trading volume accrues to the treasury rather than to an individual. The treasury has a single mandate: acquire contraband-grade Counter-Strike items and hold them indefinitely.
- Capital source pump.fun creator fees on every $CONTRABAND trade
- Mandate acquire contraband-grade items only
- Disposal policy none: the treasury does not sell
- Settlement Solana (fees, conversions, purchases) · Steam (item custody)
- Transparency treasury state is derived live from public chain and Steam data
02The asset: Contraband grade
Every Counter-Strike skin is assigned a rarity grade: Consumer, Industrial, Mil-Spec, Restricted, Classified or Covert. These grades are issued continuously through weapon cases, drops and trade-up contracts, so their supply expands over time.
Contraband is different. On 1 May 2014 Valve released the Huntsman Weapon Case, whose top-tier item was the M4A4 | Howl. On 11 June 2014 the Howl’s artwork was found to infringe a third party’s copyright. Valve removed the item from the case, revised its artwork, and reclassified existing copies under a new grade, Contraband. The Howling Dawn sticker, derived from the same artwork, was reclassified with it.
No other item has received the grade since. The contraband set is therefore closed:
| Item | Variants | Issuance |
|---|---|---|
| M4A4 | Howl | Normal, StatTrak™, Souvenir × FN / MW / FT / WW | None since June 2014 |
| Sticker | Howling Dawn | Sticker | None since June 2014 |
Approximately 7,600 Howls exist across all variants (about 6,900 normal, 625 StatTrak™, 30 Souvenir; source: csgoskins.gg). The figure can only decrease. Contraband items also cannot be listed on the Steam Community Market, so all price discovery happens on third-party marketplaces.
03Architecture
Capital moves through four stages. Each stage produces a public, independently verifiable record.
04Fee routing
pump.fun charges a fee on every trade and pays part of it to the token’s creator. Because the treasury wallet deployed $CONTRABAND, it is the creator of record, and accrued fees can only be claimed by it. Fees accumulate in pump.fun’s creator vaults (one on the bonding curve, one on PumpSwap after graduation) until claimed into the treasury wallet.
The creator fee rate is set by pump.fun and varies with the token’s market cap. The site uses 0.30% (the bonding-curve rate) to estimate the trading volume required to fund the next acquisition. Accrued-but-unclaimed fees are read directly from pump.fun’s vault accounts and shown live.
05Acquisition policy
- Eligible items the 13 contraband-grade market listings: every Howl variant and the Howling Dawn sticker
- Target selection the lowest-priced eligible listing at the time of purchase
- Trigger treasury cash (USDC plus SOL above the fee reserve) covers the target price
- Settlement USDC from the treasury wallet; primary venue dupe.fi (Solana-native, USDC settlement)
- Execution currently operator-initiated; each purchase is logged against its on-chain payment
- Disposal none: acquired items are never sold or transferred out
06Custody
Contraband items are Steam inventory items, not on-chain tokens. They are held in the treasury’s dedicated Steam account, whose inventory is public. Items received through a trade are subject to Valve’s 7-day trade protection, during which Valve can reverse the trade; after that window the item is settled in the inventory.
The treasury wallet and the Steam account are controlled by the deployer. Custody is not trustless: it is transparent. Any movement of funds or items is publicly visible.
07Verification
Nothing on the site is self-reported. Each figure can be reproduced from public sources:
| Claim | Where to verify |
|---|---|
| Treasury balances (SOL, USDC) | Treasury wallet on Solscan |
| Fees collected, conversions, purchases | The wallet’s transaction history; every ledger row links to its transaction |
| Contraband held | Treasury Steam inventory |
| Floor price & listings | Skinport, and the marketplace of each purchase |
The treasury wallet is the project’s dev wallet, which launched other coins before $CONTRABAND. Treasury figures count only fees claimed, conversions and purchases from Sat, 03 Oct 2026 10:40 UTC onward; earlier activity and unrelated transfers are excluded.

10Risks & disclosures
- $CONTRABAND is a memecoin. It is not backed by, redeemable for, or a claim on any treasury asset.
- The treasury is controlled by the deployer. Its behaviour is transparent, not enforced by a smart contract.
- Contraband items can only be acquired once fees cover a full item. At low trading volume the treasury may hold cash for an extended period.
- Skin prices are volatile. Valve can change trading rules, trade protection or item policy at any time.
- Third-party marketplaces and data sources can be unavailable, rate-limited or inaccurate.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation. Counter-Strike and the M4A4 | Howl are Valve’s property.
